We’re happy to announce a new event coming up – Pleven Marathon in Bulgaria.

- Place: city of Pleven
- Distances: 42.2 km, 21 km, 10 km relay (for 2 people)
- Free 3km city cross
It is called Pleven Friendship Marathon and is design to commemorate the sacrifice of thousands of Romanian, Russian and Bulgarian soldiers died in the summer of 1877 in the region of Pleven and Griviza in the battles for the independence of Bulgaria.
The route of the marathon passes through the main historical places in the region, including the Museum of Romanian soldiers in Griviza. Our friend and world famous flag-man runner Ilie Rosu is the Romanian ambassador of the event and the Bulgarian ambassador is Mina Lambovski, founder of “Tacitus” center, offering care and support for the families of children from the autistic spectrum.
The route of the Marathon is a good variety of city, park and road environment: starting and finishing in the city center the route passes through the most interesting spots in and around the city, such as Kaylaka park, Grivitza Romanian soldiers’ monument and Yassen village Osman Pasha sword surrender historical bridge.
